The Project Management Team of Gorkha Zilla Gurung Samaj UK (GZGSUK) has initiated phase one of educational classes. This will be of two weeks duration and will be conducted from 21 Nov to 2 Dec for those living in Kent.  On the first day of the programme, the participants and the instructors gathered in the

The Founder Chair, Lieutenant (Retd) Tham Parsad Gurung, gave a terse brief about the project and its aim and encouraged everyone to gain as much advantages as possible from this golden opportunity.

IT lesson in progress
On the first day of the lesson, General Secretary, Captain (Retd) Sher Bahadur Gurung, briefed the participants on the project outline and then handed over to the instructors. The participants will be taught practical conversational English, both written and oral including basic lessons on Information Technology (IT). To date a total of thirty veterans, spouses and widows have been attending the classes. English instructor, Mrs Sujata Gurung, IT instructors: Mr Shamir Gurung and Mr Sonam Gurung are delivering basic English and IT lessons respectively. This project was made possible when GZGS secured a funding from the Veterans’ Foundation UK. The project has been divided into three phases to deliver the programme in Kent, London and Ham[shire.  At the end of the project, we have very high hopes that the participants will see improvements in their confidence, upskill their English language and be able to interact more confidently with the diverse communities in their respective areas.
