About Us

Introduction:
There were very few Nepalese people living in the UK before 2005. The numbers started to increase after the historical announcement by the Government in Oct 2004 allowing post 97 Gurkhas to settle in the UK.  But the influx of retired Gurkhas population really increased rapidly when the Government announced in May 2009 that all Pre-97 retired Gurkhas who had served for 4 years or more from 1948 to July 1997 could settle in the UK. Since the arrival of retired Gurkhas and their families in the UK from Gorkha District in Nepal, some have faced and experienced quite dire situations that have included grief and bereavement of family members. The solidarity shown by thepeople of Gorkha District in the UK to help those in such dire predicaments was not only inspiring but also praise worthy. This outpouring of kindness and solidarity just through normal communication channel made every one think – what if we established an organisation that would help us to organise such events more efficiently and effectively and look after
